The Bishop is coming - The Bishop is coming (don't panic - deep breaths) Yes the Bishop is coming to our little church next Sunday and the Vicar wants me to wear my robes (Arghhhhhh!) I hope the moths haven't been hungry. I'm tempted to wear roller skates so I glide like the Mother Superior in the Blues Brothers.

I wish I had the nerve. The last time I wore robes I trod on the hem and nearly fell out of the pulpit My daughter is taking her camera just in case (such confidence in her Dad)

If you're wearing robes I'd go for the "Rick Wakeman" look. I think that has a certain style about it. But preferrably not the RW of the 1970's when he was almost permenantly drunk and incapable of sitting on a chair (although...)

I belong to an Anglican church But I'm not really into denominations I had a row at a hospital once when the asked if I was C of E or Catholic and I insisted on being called a Christian in the end I had to settle for C of E. Hope the studies are going well.
Yes, they are thank you. The good news is that they haven't kicked me out as yet. There appears to be hope for everybody!!

The best one i've seen is a URC minister walking up the inside of his cassock, up into the pulpit. Roller skates might have been more graceful for him to reverse back down again... break a leg!

Just be careful going up steps - many a mishap there has been with an unaccustomed robe-wearer and steps...

Don't leave anything vital in your jeans pocket, either, that can be most un-elegant when you're fishing around for hanky/sermon notes/coughsweets/etc
